The department of Business and Technology Management of Islamic University of Technology aims at developing business leaders having a sound knowledge on both business and technology. Although this department currently offers Bachelor of Business Administration in Technology Management (BBA in TM), it is going to offer MBA program from next year. The BBA program comprises of four years of study consisting of eight semesters of sixteen weeks duration each. The course curricula contain business and technology management related courses from different disciplines. Moreover, to make the syllabus a balanced and complete one, courses on social science, Islam, programming, and communications have been incorporated. The department has exchange programs as a part of international collaboration with renowned international universities.
BTM department has started working actively for accreditation from national and international accreditation bodies. For this purpose, the BTM department has already adopted outcomes-based education (OBE) and received membership from "AACSB" in October 2022. Besides, BTM department regularly organizes seminars, workshops, skill development programs, short courses for both faculty members and students. The students of the department actively take part in different extra-curriculum activities, for instance: Blockchain Olympiad, Business Case Competitions, Admaking Competition, European Rover Challenge and many more. Some of the students have been appointed as campus ambassadors for national and international companies such as Marico and Pathao. The job placement rate of the students of this department is almost 100%. Graduates are working in New Zealand Dairy Products Bangladesh Limited, Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited, Banglalink Digital Communications Limited, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, bKash, Advanced Chemical Industries (ACI) Limited and so on.
