The Department of Business and Technology Management (BTM) is the newest department of the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) with an annual intake of 50 undergraduate students. It offers students a unique hands-on experience in state-of-the-art laboratories and instruction from well qualified and dedicated faculty. The department ensures close interaction between students and faculty to extract the best out of the students. It also tries to maintain continuous interactions with different renowned multinational companies in the field of accounting, management, human resource, economics and technology which give an added impetus to the students to acquire strong theoretical foundation and outstanding practical experiences.

Mission of the BTM Department

- To impart quality education and necessary skills in the undergraduate and post-graduate levels.

- To provide balanced curriculum on the basis of national and international demands.

- To gain sound understandings of business disciplines and drive technology-based innovation.

- To excel in research and innovation integrating the faculty knowledge and student skills.

- To explore opportunities for disseminating knowledge, resources and research on international level.

The Dean- College of Business, Texas A&M University visited IUT to extend future collaboration with BTM Department

Associate Professor Dr. Mario Hayek, Dean- College of Business, Texas A&M University has visited IUT on 13th April, 2022 with a motive to extend future collaboration with BTM Department . During his visit, Honorable VC, Pro-VC, Deans, Head of BTM Department, Head of International Affairs, CoE, faculty members of BTM had a fruitful meeting on a number of exchange programs and possible future collaborations.

BTM Department has received the membership from "AACSB"

BTM department has successfully received the membership from the top international Accreditation body for Business school - AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business).

1st Industry Advisory Panel Meeting of BTM Department

The 1st Industry Advisory Panel Meeting of BTM Department held on 28th October 2022 under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Md. Abul Kalam Azad, Head, BTM Department; Kazi Md. Mohiuddin, Senior General Manager, Brand, Meghna Group of Industries (MGI), Head of Brand Marketing, MGI; Muhammad Arifur Rahman, FCA, Finance Controller, bKash Limited; Abu Saem, FCA, Finance Controller, Banglalink Digital Communications Ltd.; Hasnain Ishtiaq, Head of Manufacturing, BAT Bangladesh; Former Head of Supply Chain, BAT Malaysia; Aanisha Mahmood, Employer Brand and Learning Manager, Unilever Bangladesh Ltd. and all the faculty members of BTM Department were present in the meeting.
